I’m still not sure how the badges are awarded, or removed. I had one for months & then it just disappeared. It was at the same time I changed my picture & reached level 5. Is there a chance the points system or counter is off or delayed?……ideas?

Exact formula of about TC Badge is secret… It will be change… If need…
It will appear on monday… After getting the badge.. If You were not contributing more & not supposed to give enough best answers in particular category…. It will disappear on new monday…….

The TC badge is given/ taken away on Mondays, therefore you need to maintain the standard and quality of your answers to keep the badge.
my top contributor badge in politics also vanished into thin air.
same thing happened in my case also because of changing my photo.
Changing photos, levels, nicknames, etc. has NO effect on the TC badge. It is based purely on your continued performance. TC labels come & go depending on your CURRENT contributions & Best Answers. So, you CAN lose it, by answering less, getting less Best Answers, etc. But you can also get it back, or even get one in a totally new category.

You can try 866-562-7219. Go with option 1 as all the other options lead back to the web, which has not been helpful in answering my specific question. I think this number is for "premium" (or paid) services, but normally they don’t ask if you were a premium user or not.
