I am the monitor for a Yahoo Group and quite a few potential members are having problems signing up with non Yahoo email addresses. I know this was or is possible because about 3/4 of our existing list are non Yahoo addresses.
I need instructions to give out with invites.
invites have two options, join with your Yahoo ID/ Account or just the mailing list which only requires the e-mail address but those members wont be able to access the group page or features.
if they have a Yahoo Account/ ID and want to add a different e-mail address to that to use, here’s how
go to this link- http://groups.yahoo.com/myprefs click add email address on top left- follow steps and confirm address.
then go to this link http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups click edit my groups on the top left- locate group (if there’s more than one) under the column Email Address click the arrow for the drop down box and select new address- click save changes
if they don’t want a Yahoo Account /ID, and if you’re group isn’t invite only, just send them the subscribe address
